In 2014, my dog Julie ran away from home without her collar on. It was the most terrifying moment in my life. I had never experienced a lost pet situation and was panicking. I googled "Lost Pet" and was flooded by search results. In addition, I felt overwhelmed given that I wasn't sure whether to go outside and search for my dog or to immediately create and print fliers. As a result, I decided to design a solution that digitized the process of creating lost pet fliers and notifying local shelters/hospitals.
Dog Owners
A mobile app that allows dog owners to create an amber alert for lost dogs. The user will be able to create a digital lost dog alert with his/her dog’s information and notify nearby users, shelters, and animal hospitals simultaneously.
By notifying nearby users, the app widens the search network instantly and increases one's chances of locating a lost pet. In addition, simplifying the features and functions caters to the needs (speed / ease of use) and emotional state (worried / overwhelmed) of the user.
